Yesterday I posted that I thought that social media media was over.. Today while buying coffee and tomatoes at Jewel I looked at the cover of Barron’s and the title was the Social Media Bubble. There position was that the IPO’s for social media companies are all over valued.

What still need to be explored is where does social work, where does it make sense for both local business and national brands. Who is having success with using it has a portion of their marketing mix. But what along with their social media strategy is working.

Is Social So OVER?

The last few days I have been thinking about social media and its play/future in the marketing mix of the future and I began thinking about is social media over? I read a quote the other day that today’s business coaches are yesterdays real estate agents and life coaches. Could that be also said about social media “experts”

Yesterday on CNBC interview an social media start-up CEO exclaimed, much to the chargrin of his VC onlooker that Apple is the most talked about company in social media channels BUT has no social media presence at all. None. Now that caused  me to pause and think about what I have been thinking about over the past few months.

But the two questions that I ask is where if anywhere does social media play out and is it dead? Or was it never really anything.

Come on lets get real if Jeffery Gitmore is writing books about Social Media didn’t we really know its time was over.

Do you have a mobile strategy

The other night I was reading the PEW study on the use of mobile, smart phones and tablet devices. (OK after I finished that I also read the new James Bond novel.)

Over 35% of all cell phone users are smart phone uses. (This number is set to double in only a few year.)

50% of all searches are now in being done on a mobile device.

It will be the primary search device in less than two (2) years.

Mobile in its purist form is Direct Response advertising. They are searching for a very specific reason or search.

If you place a QR code on you ad you ad will have a 22-27% higher intent to respond then if you do not have one.

The stats are overabundant to continue to prove to you that you need a mobile strategy. In fact if you do not have one now you might be two late.

10x Have you under estimated how much it will take to get it done.

This weekend I read Grant Cardone’s newest book 10X What is takes to Make It Work, it is a must read for everyone.  A number of items came to light but the first item that jumped out at me was that many people do not even make the necessary effort  to get it done. You need to take your level of effort up to 10x to be successful.
What really impressed me was the amount of effort that Grant took to make his company successful. What he did was truly impressive, what he achieved is commendable and what he outlines is the blue print of success for everyone. I strongly urge you to take a look at what you are doing and take the level of effort up 10x to achieve your dreams
